    Velvet Tank Top

This tank top is the perfect kind of cozy for cool summer nights. For this project, I used Bernat's "Baby Velvet". It's so soft, luxurious and has a beautiful drape. The fabric it creates has just enough stretch for a flattering racerback tank top.

I use the same concept here as I did with the Racerback Toddler Dress. I LOVE the modern look of these racerback designs.

    DIFFICULTY:

    Easy

    Terms:

    U.S. terms

    SUPPLIES:

    • Bernat Baby Velvet, (492 yds/450 m ; 300 g/ 10.5 oz)
      • Terracotta Rose, 1 - 2 skeins
    • Hook — H-8 (5 mm)
    • Yarn needle
    • Scissors

    ABBREVIATIONS:

    • st(s) - stitch(es)
    • ch – chain
    • sl st – slip stitch
    • sc – single crochet
    • inc – two single crochet in one st space

    GAUGE:

    4”x4”: 14 sc x 18 rows

    BUST MEASUREMENTS:

This yarn creates a fabric with a bit of stretch. Be sure to try it on early in the process and adjust the sizing to your fit preferences.

    • XS - 32"
    • S - 34"
    • M - 36"
    • L - 38"
    • XL - 40"
    • 2X - 42"

    NOTES:

We'll start by working the straps and the bust in rows. Then we'll work on the length of the bodice in rounds.

If you need yours to be longer, simply work more rounds.

I hope you guys enjoy this super comfy tank! Technically the yarn is okay to go into the washer, but I always take the extra time to hand-wash my handmade garments.

I would really love to see your version so please tag me on Instagram or hit me up on Ravelry! And as always, comment below if you’ve got any questions!
