CROCHET KIDS SCARF
There's something wonderful about completing a full project in a just a few hours. This crochet kids scarf follows a simple pattern that makes a lovely accessory for your little one. We use a light, weight 3, yarn which results in warm garment that has fantastic drape.
Crocheting for my kiddo is the most satisfying thing I do. Not only do I get to be a doting mama, she absolutely loves it. I hope you'll enjoy this project too!
ABOUT THE YARN:
For this project, we're using Lion Brand Yarn, Mandala. This is a weight 3, DK yarn. I love this weight of yarn for crochet accessories. Crochet uses roughly 30% more yarn than knitting. Because of this, crocheting accessories and garments with a heavier weight of yarn can result in a project that is too bulky. Especially when it's meant for kids! Using a lightweight yarn helps keep a beautiful drape while also making sure the accessory is warm enough.
I decided to use the colorway "Cupid". My daughter, who is 5, loves pink. But don't worry if the kiddo in your life isn't obsessed with all things pink! Lion Brand offers over 30 colorways in this yarn, so you're sure to find something that will please your little one just as much.
It's also worth noting that I had enough yarn left over to knit her a matching hat. I love when you can make a project with a single skein of yarn -- even better when you can make two!
